Maple Burl Cap
 

This is prime example of my Natural Series.

The challenge with this piece of wood was how to retain the densely packed burls (which are on the bottom).  In the end, instead of turning a complex piece, I decided to turn a simple bowl.  By making the wall thin enough to penetrate through, it creates an interesting tension between the finished inside and the raw outside.
